- All Kinds of Stuff Happening...
- Two major events have been dominating my mind for the last couple of weeks: The (very successful) Stompology 2008 weekend, and the astonishing fact that I... have joined a gym.
- Stompology 2007
- Well, Stompology has come and gone once again. Overall it was a great weekend, and once again we've had good vibes from the students and teachers. We've also learned a few more things this time around, and I'm looking forward to next year's event being even bigger and better.
- Intro to Swing
- On Tuesday night, Cori and taught the first week of our current _Intro to Swing_ class for Groove Juice Swing. The class moved a little bit too slowly (which may have been my fault), so we didn't get through much, but I consider it a success and am really looking forward to the next four weeks.
- Stompology!
- So, you may or may not have heard about Stompology. Here's the deal: Rochester will be host to the first workshop for Lindy Hoppers and swing dancers specifically focusing on solo Authentic Jazz dance movement.
- A Weekend in Toronto
- This weekend Sarah and I (and many others) hit Toronto for Steve and Caitlin's wedding celebration. Or is it Caitlin and Steve's wedding celebration? Well, either way.
- Steven & Virginie
- This past weekend was Rochester's eighth annual Steven and Virginie Lindy Hop workshop. Although I sat out for a lot of the classes, I do have to say Steven got me excited about dancing again.
- Happy Birthday Groove Juice!
- Groove Juice Swing celebrates its first year tonight with a dance party at Tango Cafe Dance Studio starting at 7pm. Admission is $3.
- Montreal
- Who would imagine that a late-night weekend excursion to Montreal, of all places, would turn out to be some of the most dance-fun I've had in a long time? We left at 7pm on Saturday, arrived at around 1am, danced our asses off, crashed at Sylwia's (thank you Sylwia!), regrew our asses, got up, danced our asses off again from 2pm to 6, ate, and drove home.
