AOL is the new Yahoo

So AOL has a new homepage for their website. If you've read this story you'll know that it's identical to the Yahoo homepage.

Exhibit A: AOL vs Yahoo

Come on, guys. I mean, I know web portals are going to look similar in many cases… and at least it’s not table based. But there isn’t even an attempt to offer anything even slightly unique.

I can only imagine how this decision was made: Maybe AOL saw that a bunch of their users were hitting Yahoo first when browsing online. So they’d just bring Yahoo home instead. And make it browny instead of bluey.

I don’t know what kind of rights Yahoo has in this issue. I imagine the web design community will be abuzz for the next few weeks.

AOL is totally original, dude. I mean they’ve got a long track record of totally not ripping off Digg.com or CompuServe…
