The Lost World
Since the last episode of Lost, "I Do", aired on November 8, 2006, there have been a few changes in the world. As I gear up for tonight's new episode, "Not in Portland", I am keen to reflect on some of the events within the last three months.
- On November 15, Al Jazeera English launched. Since it doesn’t show Lost, I didn’t watch.
- On November 17, Michael Richards said some really dumb things and got himself in hot media water. Don’t worry, Kramer, negative press never affected anyone’s TV career.
- On November 19, Nintendo launched the Wii, giving nerds something to do until February.
- On November 30 the first phase of Windows Vista launches began, and my plans for buying a computer became immediately shakey.
- On December 5 there was a coup in Fiji. All Oceanic Air flights to the island were delayed indefinitely.
- On December 13 the Chinese River Dolphin became extinct. What, you didn’t hear about it?
- On December 22 the Discovery shuttle landed, bearing toys for all the good little boys and girls around the world.
- On December 26 Gerald Ford died. GM stock rose 35 cents.
- On December 30 Saddam Hussein was executed by hanging.
- On January 1 Adam Air Flight 574 disappeared in Indonesia. No major electromagnetic anamolies were reported in the area.
- On January 4, the democrat-majority US Congress was sworn in.
- On January 11 China blew up one of their own weather satellites. An hour later they had to blow up another one.
- On January 31, Boston was the victim of a false bomb scare caused by unidentified electronic devices.
- On February 4 some football game happened. I watched Toy Story 2 with Sarah instead.
I was hoping to pull everything together into some giant Lost-related conspiracy theory, but I’m just not that creative. I can draw no conclusion about these events, sorry. At least I blogged.
