Someone once said that given enough time, eventually any form of entertainment will evolve to the point that it becomes a parody of itself (and if someone didn't, consider this me officially calling dibs). You may choose to disagree, but I would argue that country music never had that far to go in the first place.

That sounds like the kind of country song that someone would write if they wanted to make fun of country songs. I mean it. There’s some Weird Al-caliber stuff in that tune.
